What to Know BEFORE Lip Fillers

(Lip Augmentation: Before and After)

The first step is to schedule a consultation with our qualified providers. This isn’t just a formality; it’s an opportunity to discuss your expectations, goals, and any questions you may have. Safety is our number one priority for all our treatments.

Cost is an important consideration. Although the cost of fillers may vary depending on the type and amount, it’s important to prioritize quality over cost for optimal results and safety. While typical costs can range from around $400 to $900, investing in high-quality products is the key to better outcomes.

For example, at Martin’s Rejuvenation Centre, we only use premium quality fillers that provide exceptional and long-lasting results. Our experienced injectors take the time to understand your aesthetic goals and preferences, ensuring natural-looking and seamless enhancement of your features. With our expertise, everyone will notice the subtle enhancement, but no one will suspect that you have had fillers in your lips.

During your consultation, we’ll assess your unique facial features, provide personalized recommendations, and review your medical history. For example, the biggest scenarios are pregnant and breastfeeding people will have to wait to get any type of filler.

We’ll also discuss potential risks and address any concerns you may have about side effects. Common side effects like redness, swelling, and mild pain are temporary and typically subside quickly.

Now, let’s talk about pain. Ranging from mild discomfort to mild pain during the process, we offer a topical medical-grade anaesthetic that we can apply for pain management during the treatment. Generally, fillers are very tolerable, but for those who would like the added comfort, we offer numbing the area to ensure maximal patient comfort. We often also offer a small ice pack for the area for the first few hours to help reduce swelling and discomfort.

Regarding results, it’s important to understand the expected timeline. While the response to lip fillers is unique, they typically last, on average, 6 months.

What to Know AFTER Getting Lip Fillers

(Lip Augmentation: Before and After)

Cheers to your fuller, even more beautiful lips!

To make sure your amazing results last, remember these easy but important aftercare tips:

  • Don’t lie down for at least 2 hours after the procedure to avoid the filler from unsettling.
  • Avoid kissing within the first 48 hours after the procedure. This is because excessive movement or pressure on the treated area can disrupt the settling process and affect the result.
  • Avoid using straws or any sucking movement for the same reason as above.
  • Avoid lip makeup products within the first 48 hours after treatment to allow the treated area to heal.
  • Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption for at least 72 hours after the treatment. Alcohol causes dehydration and increases the risk of swelling and bruising.
  • Sleep with your head elevated for 48 hours to allow the filler to settle.
  • Although there’s rarely pain following the procedure, you can apply a cold compress to manage any discomfort, swelling, or bruising. You can also take over-the-counter pain relievers like Tylenol.
  • Don’t hesitate to contact your treatment provider if you have any other concerns or experience any complications or negative side effects.
